2. Consumer Price Index (CPI)

The 2024 CPI should have been based on the 2021 household consumption structure, but due to significant changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a different approach was taken. Considering that consumer behavior gradually returned to normal starting from the third quarter of 2022, the 2024 CPI weightings are based on the average consumption structure from 2019 to 2021, using data from the fourth quarter of 2022 to the third quarter of 2023.

1. Overall Price Index

From November 2022 to January 2024:

The overall index slightly decreased from 106.62 to 106.59, indicating minimal changes in overall prices.

February 2024:

The index rose significantly to 107.26, likely due to the impact of holidays or other short-term factors, leading to an increase in prices.

From March to April 2024:

The index slightly fell to 106.56, then rebounded to 107.15 in April, reflecting some price volatility during this period.

From May to July 2024:

2. Food Category Index Analysis:

From November 2022 to January 2024:

The index continued to drop, reaching its lowest point of 111.51 in April, possibly due to changes in supply or demand.

From May to July 2024:

The food price index rose from 112.78 to 113.11, showing that food prices began to increase during this period.
